» Synopsis

Artificial intelligence, robots, and digital illusions. My quest for innovation leads me down a path of delusions and addiction.
An expressionist animated essay about cinema and technology.

Description of the project
An animated essay film made by hand but with the unfortunate assistance of AI.
The Animation techniques used were rotoscoping, Stop motion, hand colored laser prints, Robot drawings and 3d printed figures.
All the scenes are based in scenes from the films: Nosferatu, Dr. Caligari, Golem and Metropolis.

Declaration of use of Ai
Because of the concept, the film needed the use of Ai.
Every single frame of the film has been assisted by the use of Ai but also was hand worked.
Every frame was created individually like in traditional animation.

• Open source software of Ai capture motion to animate a 3d character in 3d software, then each frame of animation was printed in a 3d printer and used to create traditional stop motion.
• Open source Ai Image generation software was used to generate line drawings that were painted with an adapted paintbrush by a robot and then they where animated in stop motion.
• Open source Ai Image generation software was used to generate images that were printed in a laser printer and hand colored.
• Open source Ai Image generation software was used to generate images that later were rotoscoped by hand with digital painting techniques.
